The Valley Forge track team started the season fast Saturday at Olmsted Falls. The boys team had multiple top 5 finishers lead by Ernie Keeton (1st in the 800M), Jimmy Bateman (2nd Disc & 3rd Shot Put), Jack Pereksta (3rd 200M dash), Michael Pappas (4th 100M dash), Jared Zychowski (3rd 400M dash), Antwon Torres (5th 400M dash). The boys 4 x 200 Relay placed first with a time of 139.2. Member of the relay are Michael Miller, Pappas, Matthias Chmielewski, and Miguel Ortiz. The boys also placed 4th in the 4 x 100 Relay. Several other runners had strong starts including Logan Smith, Justin Swanberg, Bryan Bobrowski, and Jalen Robinson.
The girls team also had a strong showing lead by Aliyah Shamatta (2nd Disc & 4th Shot Put) and Nina Bradley (1st Disc & 5th Shot Put), Jessica Mlocki (4th Disc), Anna Sevastos (3rd Shot Put) ,Summer Whelan (3rd 3200M run), Anna Marsick (6th 400M dash), Gabby Lutzo (6th 3200M run). Several other girls ran well including: Kelsey Lee (100), Diane Tah (200), Zoe Germana (200), and Sana Khan (100 hurdles). The team will take on Elyria Catholic Tuesday starting at 4:30 at Byers Field.
