The Lady Patriots played their home opener against visiting Bay at Byers Field Tuesday night. Bay came out strong from the opening kickoff. The was tied until late in the first half when the Rockets scored a goal to take the lead. As the second half kicked off, the Lady Patriots fought back with shot attempts being fired in by Gia Germana, Kelsey Lee, Savannah Zambory, Nina Nedeljkovic and Jessica Mlocki along with goalkeeper Natalie Greenwood ending the night with fourteen key saves but Bay manged to fire in one more goal late in the game claiming a 2-0 victory. The Lady Patriots will get a few nights off before they host Rocky River on Saturday.
The Lady Patriots made the long trip to Pennsylvania to face General McClane in their first ever out-of-state match. McClane scored early holding a lead until Kelsey Lee tied it up before halftime. With a 1-1 score, the second half got underway with Kelsey Lee scoring her second goal after firing in seven shot attempts and goalkeeper Natalie Greenwood having twelve saves by the end of the game. Savannah Zambory and Summer Patsko added their own shot attempts to the attack but it was not enough as General McClane scored five additional goals for a final of 2-6.
The Lady Patriots traveled to Medina to take on Bucks after a huge win in Garfield Heights. Kelsey Lee came out strong with five shot attempts and one goal along with Abigail Semenec and Jenna Sendrey who each scored one goal. Goalkeeper Natalie Greenwood had fifteen saves by the final whistle but it was not enough as Buckeye scored 5 goals against the Lady Patriots who lost the match.
