Girls Varsity Tennis · Girls Tennis Weekly Report

The Valley Forge Girls Tennis Team has been improving throughout this season. The highlight of the season so far is defeating Elyria Catholic 4-1. 1st Singles Willow Reddish is a 4 year starter and Captain and has really been leading by example with her leadership and positive energy she has brought to the team. Our Lady Patriots doubles team is led by Seniors 1st doubles Emily Iorillo and Carli Sykora and 2nd doubles Seniors Jordan Anthony and Arie Lopez. Both teams have had some amazing matches this season vs Fairview Park, Wadsworth, and Elyria Catholic. Our doubles teams are the strength of our lineup and were instrumental in defeating Elyria Catholic this season.

1st year singles freshmen Allyson Tancak has made drastic improvement at 3rd singles so much that she has now bumped up to 2nd singles this season. In her first year of playing tennis, she has started Varsity from day 1 and has never looked back. She has a bright future for the Lady Patriots Tennis team going forward. Allyson is a hard worker in practice and never misses a single practice or an opportunity to improve her tennis game. Allyson often will play extra matches against opponents to sharpen her skills for her next opponent. Allyson is a strength and the future of Valley Forge Girls Tennis.

The big matches ahead in our season is on 9/11 vs arch rival Parma Senior High School. We also have the Great Lakes Conference and Sectional Tournaments upcoming in September. I look forward to an excellent showing to finish the season in our stretch run.
