Girls Varsity Soccer · KELSEY LEE – ATHLETE OF THE YEAR NOMINEE

During my four years at Valley Forge, I have met some of the most amazing people in my life. Being a part of the soccer team has shaped me into the person I am today. The girls soccer team has been building over these four years. The women who have graduated before us taught us all many lessons and have given us someone to look up to. Our class of 2019 especially made the team stronger and built us into the team we were this past year. In this last year on the team, we overcame challenges together and our record was above 500, something we have been working towards and putting in hard work for. This soccer team has become part of my family and once I became a contender on the OSHAA stats board, they all worked extra hard to help me beat a Valley Forge record. Even with a relatively young team, we were able to scare the bigger schools and show more and schools who Valley Forge is. Beginning my sophomore year, I decided to do track in order to keep me in shape for the soccer season. In 2018 our 4×100 team with hard work got second place in our GLC meet. Track is a very different sport from soccer with track being more individual, but I found that the boys and girls were very supportive of each other everyone who did track made it memorable. In my future I will be attending Ursuline College to pursue nursing and play Division II soccer.
