The boys basketball team defeated the Lakewood Rangers 71-63 Tuesday night. The first half was a back and forth affair with each team taking the lead several times. The Patriots were able to withstand nine first half three pointers by the Rangers with six of their own and take a 36-35 lead at halftime. The Patriots stepped up their defense in the second half and held Lakewood to only nine points in the third quarter, taking a ten point lead into the fourth quarter. Several layups and free throws allowed the Patriots to close out the game. Trell Marks led all scorers 20. Tyler Quinones had 14 and Anthony Atkins contributed with 10 off the bench. Tyler Dickerson, Norman Pomales, and Izzy Santiago all hit key three pointers. Chris Sledge and Max Dieye added great defense and rebounding. Randall Fields had several assists in the victory. The team improved their record to 4-4 and face Rocky River on Friday.
