Janowski Returns to Districts; Lehmann gets a Shot

Feb 27, Last Saturday at Strongsville High School, Valley Forge’s five remaining wrestlers competed at the sectional tournament. Qualifying to the district tournament for the first time was senior Daniel Lehmann at 120. Also, making his second trip in a row will be junior Anthony Janowski at 160. Jan 21, Senior Daniel Lehmann used a variety of moves to upend his opponents from Buckeye and Parma on Thursday, January 21st at Valley Forge.  Wrestling at 120 pounds on Senior Night, Lehmann went low with deep single-leg takedowns, and high with upper-body throws to keep the opposition off balance.  In the end, Daniel recorded two

Wrestlers Fight On With Five Healthy Bodies

Dec 10, The wrestling team only had five wrestlers for its tri-meet against St. Ignatius (blue) and Fairview on Thursday.  Notching wins for the Patriots were Charlie WIlliamson at 106, Daniel Lehmann at 120, and Anthony Janowski at 160.  The wrestlers travel to Loudonville on Dec. 19th for a wrestling tournament.

Wrestling Team looks To Improve With Fewer Numbers The varsity wrestling team hopes to improve on a season which produced only one district qualifier in Anthony Janowski (160) who is now a junior and the team captain.  Senior Daniel Lehmann (120) will be competing in his fourth season and missed going to districts by one match.

Feb 29, First-year wrestler Anthony Janowski (160) advanced to the district tournament at Perrysburg this Friday by finishing 4th in the St. Edward’s sectional.  Janowski, a sophomore, currently has an 18 – 18 record which is fairly remarkable for someone who started wrestling for the first time only three months ago.  Janowski also finished in

Feb 15, Anthony Janowski (160) and Darian Sutton (182) both finished in 3rd place in the GLC wrestling tournament at Buckeye High School on Saturday.  Finishing in 4th place were Daniel Lehmann (106) and Joey Vasil (285).
